Lexus To Reveal LS 500 F Sport At 2017 New York Auto Show

Lexus’ flagship sedan, the LS, is India-bound and it is safe to assume that the F Sport variant will arrive as well! 

Toyota’s luxury wing, Lexus, officially entered India with two SUVs and a sedan (out of which two are hybrids) recently. During its introduction, Lexus also showcased its flagship sedan, the LS, in the country, which will be launched in the near future. It had showcased the hybrid version of the all-new LS – the LS 500h – in India, which made its world debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show (March), while the new-gen of the nameplate made its world premier at the 2017 North American International Auto Show (January). Now, the automaker is all set to showcase the sportier avatar – the F Sport – of the new LS range at the upcoming 2017 New York Auto Show this month.

Lexus has recently teased an image of the upcoming LS 500/500h F Sport in an official release, but has not shared much info. However, we can assume that the LS's F Sport versions will have aggressive styling, a sportier suspension setup, and more, like other F Sport models from the brand. Lexus says that LS F Sport ‘will capitalise on the platform’s responsiveness and agility to present the most engaging LS driving experience yet.’

Speaking of the new India-bound LS, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class rival is based on the marque’s latest Lexus Global Architecture – GA-L. Lexus is expected to drive in the hybrid version of the same in the Indian market – the LS 500h. It packs a 3.5-liter Dual VVT-i V6 petrol engine, which is coupled with two electric motors, together delivering a maximum system power of 354PS. It is safe to assume that Lexus might also offer the upcoming F Sport version of the hybrid sedan as well since it already offers the F Sport version of its RX SUV in the country.
