To get success in growing nations, a carmaker needs to have an affordable vehicles to cater to the mass segment. To keep this in mind, Nissan, the Japanese automaker revived the Datsun brand after 37 long years, and India became the nation to host the global return of the affordable car manufacturers. Datsun unveiled the Go hatchback in India on July 15, 2013, which received a decent response from the auto experts. Few days back, Nissan also unveiled the second Datsun product, Go+ MPV at the 2013 Indonesia Motor Show.

The revival of Datsun brand gives you an idea of the Nissan's strategy for the developing nations like India, Indonesia, Russia and South Africa. It seems like Datsun has a couple of more products, which we expect to be a compact sedan and a compact SUV, to complete the lineup, which specially targets the young buyers. The Indian auto industry will be the centre for the production of these vehicles, and Nissan will export the vehicles to other three nations.

In recent times, global car makers are making India an export hub, and South Africa is one of the most preferred destinations of all. We could also see the same in Datsun case, it is speculated that Datsun will launch made-in-India GO hatchback in South Africa. Nissan also has the plans to export made-in India cars to other countries.

Nissan India will launch the Datsun Go and unveil the Go+ MPV at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. The hatchback will be powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol engine that also does duty to the Micra, and will be mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Moreover, it will also have Mobile Docking System to connect smartphones to the vehicle.
