Mahindra electric vehicle to be introduced at Delhi Auto Expo

Mahindra and Mahindra, homegrown auto maker, has revealed its plans for upcoming Delhi Auto Expo. The company President Pawan Goenka told that an electric vehicle from Mahindra and Mahindra will be displayed at the Auto Expo along with its entire range of two-wheelers, light commercial vehicles (LCV), utility vehicles (UV) and trucks. This also include a mini-truck, named Mahindra Maxximo, is pitted against Tata Ace and is expected to be priced similarly.

The company intends to launch the electric vehicle in India by the end of the next year. Mr Goneka added that the company has developed CNG and hydrogen vehicles and planned to launch them in next 12 to 18 months. However, a lot things, like infrastructure, have to be kept in consideration before the launch. In addition to this, Mahindra and Mahindra is mulling to introduce hydrogen operated three-wheeler in India. According to some media reports, the three-wheeler might be christened Mahindra HY-Alpha. The HY-Alpha can give a range of around 170 km. The three-wheeler is believed to be zero emissions. There will be launches of Volkswagen Polo and Maruti Eeco as well at the Auto Expo.
