The Indian automotive market has been booming with all-electric offerings, including the recently launched Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e. Mahindra has made futuristic and stylish EVs, something which was not seen in the mass-market segments until now. Given their eye-catching design and expansive features set, the two Mahindra EVs have undoubtedly gained instant popularity among new car buyers. These 5 factors are likely the major reasons behind their immense demand:
Designed To Grab Eyeballs
Both the BE 6 and XEV 9e feature stunning exterior design to make them look straight out of an action flick. The two Mahindra electric SUVs are based on the carmaker’s Heartcore Design philosophy, to offer a mix of bold innovation and modern luxury.
The BE 6 flaunts edgy, athletic silhouette and race-inspired agility, whereas the XEV 9e exudes sophistication, thanks to its suave SUV-coupe design, blending indulgent luxury with dynamic performance.
Futuristic Cabin
Mahindra has given the cabin of the BE 6 a race-ready digital cockpit design to offer complete control to the owner. On the other hand, the XEV 9e’s cabin looks more suited for practical usage, but the highlight here is its Cinemascope feature that comprises three 12.3-inch high-res screens. The BE 6 and XEV 9e also offer 95 percent of UV ray filtration, a whisper-quiet cabin and, best-in-class air conditioning to help you stay cool, calm and protected when sat in any one of these EVs.
As Spacious & Practical As They Can Get
Both the EVs boast high scores when it comes to cabin space on offer: 1,522 litres in the BE 6 and 1,617 litres in the XEV 9e. The two SUVs also have a frunk (front trunk) of 45 litres and 150 litres, respectively. When it comes to their boot space, the BE 6 offers 455 litres of luggage loading area, while it measures 663 litres for the XEV 9e.
The two Mahindra EVs have been conceptualised with a focus on the comfort of the driver and the big families as well. Both the SUVs get a 6-way powered driver seat with lumbar support, along with memory and welcome function. Practicality is well taken care of by providing them with dual wireless phone chargers, 1-litre water bottle holders in door pads, cup holders in the centre console, and 65 W fast-charging Type-C USB ports at the front and back as well.
Loaded With Tech And Safety Features
Both the EVs are offered with plentiful technological features such as a digital driver’s display, a touchscreen infotainment unit (10.25-inch in BE 6 and 12.3-inch in XEV 9e), and an Infinity Roof with illumination. There are many standout amenities as well, including an in-car camera, augmented reality-based heads-up display, and multi-colour ambient lighting.
Mahindra has ensured that both the electric SUVs are as safe as possible by equipping them with up to seven airbags, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, and even Level-2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). What’s more, both the Mahindra SUVs have got a full 5-star safety rating in the Bharat NCAP crash tests.
