Mahindra India supports a noble cause

Mahindra & Mahindra India, the premium locomotive manufacturer supported the India-UK Friendship Walk, the historic event, initiated by Jill Beckingham from Ahmadabad, the Sabarmati Ashram, tracking back the Dandi route which is 357 km long.
The walk is a tribute to the Father of Nation Gandhi's Dandi march. The Charity Walk was started by the British Deputy High Commissioner's wife in Mumbai, Peter Beckhingham to support the six NGOs in Vadodara and Mumbai. The walk was started on 17th November and walked till the Karkhadi village which is almost 20 kms from Mumbai.
Avinash Patankar, the Senior Vice President of Sales, Customer Care and Chanel Development of the Farm Equipment sector (M&M) said that, to be associated with this historic event was of great value and pride for the company.
Patankar, also said that, flipping the pages of history Dandi march is one event which will surely be marked in history. This walk will be embarked in the history as it is all the more special as a British lady is participating and making efforts for six NGO's. Patankar expressing his gratitude, said that, the company is delighted to be a part of this event. The company sponsored the walk in financial and infrastructure aspects and was happy to be a part of this noble event. Beckingham feeling elated said that, she highly admires the Gandhian principles. The vision with which the event was started was to strengthen the alliance between India and UK.
The British lady, thanked Mahindra & Mahindra, India, for its support, and said that, Indian corporate houses offered its support and help in generating a fund of Rs 60 lacs for this noble cause.
Other than Mahindra India, lending its support for the social causes, the company also wishes to expand in terms of its brand width and product portfolio. Mahindra India, just like its arch rivals Tata Motors is soon to acquire a foreign SUV manufacturer, Ssangyong Motors. This Korean car maker is known for its technological prowess. Mahindra will acquire 70 per cent of its stakes and will support the company in financial and marketing aspects. The Indian brand wagon is looking forward to trace its mark on the global auto industry by using the advanced technology used by the Korean car brand. Mahindra in India is known for its two wheelers, light and heavy locomotive manufacturing. The company is well known for its SUVs in India, Mahindra Bolero, Mahindra Scorpio, Mahindra Scorpio W and Mahindra Xylo.
