Mahindra sales jumped 16.30 percent in March

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., India's largest SUV maker has registered a sales increase of over 16.30 per cent in domestic sales for March. The company sold 29,944 units in the period as compare to the 25,748 units it sold in the same period last year.
The company manage to sell 20,914 units of its utility vehicle sales including Scorpio, Xylo, Bolero and Pick-Ups as against 19,973 units in March 2009, accounted for a jump of 4.71 per cent. However, the sales of its joint venture sedan Logan decreased to 351 units during the month of March as against 962 units in the same month of last year.
Besides this company registered a sales jump of 90.33 per cent in sales of its three-wheelers, compact truck Gio and mini truck Maxximo during March, with selling 7,695 units in the period as against 4,043 units during the same month last year. Sales of light commercial vehicle sales from Mahindra Navistar Automotive Ltd during the month were at 984 units as against 770 units in the same period a year ago, accounted for a increase of 27.79 per cent.
M&M's exports during the month increased nearly four fold to 1,754 units as compare to 461 units in March 2009.
In the whole financial year 2009-10, Mahindra sold 2,86,713 units as compare to 2,20,215 units in same period of preceding fiscal, accounted for a increase of 30.20 percent.
