Mahindra to enter in car-service segment

Mahindra & Mahindra India's largest SUV manufacturer is all set to enter in the business of multi-brand car service worth of Rs 20,000 crore. The car service business in India is mostly run by unorganized business groups and it has a vast opportunity for big auto players. Demand in auto spares and service segment is all set to rise in coming years as the auto industry in India is growing rapidly year on year.
Rajeev Dubey, president of Mahindra's after-market division, It holds enormous growth potential and we plan to expand in a big way, as told to a media group. Mahindra group currently has about 7 multi-brand service outlets and the company is all set to expand its network to 450 outlets in next three to four years, Mr Dubey added. The company is looking to increase its base by self owned and franchisee owned outlets.
Besides the multi-brand car service business the Mahindra & Mahindra is also planning to expand its used-car business name as 'First Choice'. According to Mr Dubey the potential in used-car market is very high as it mostly run by unorganized players. He also added that customers are not satisfied with the current unorganized players which gives yet another opportunity to big players to enter this segment.
Mahindra currently sells one of the most popular SUVs in India including Mahindra Bolero, Mahindra Scorpio and Mahindra Xylo.
