Mahindra & Mahindra that launched the all new Verito in India in the last quarter of 2012, is now all set to launch the sub-4 metre version of the same car, which will compete against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Tata Indigo eCS and other compact sedans. The Verito CS which has been doing test runs in India for quite sometime now, has been spotted yet again in Nashik by Auto Adrenaline, and the pictures have received the mixed reviews from the viewers on social media, some liked it, some didn't, and some like us preferred to wait until the official images are out.
But one thing that came as a shocker for us is the fact that the new set of pictures caught by Auto Adrenaline is different in rear design to the previously caught spy pictures of the same car. The car looks more of a notchback than a regular compact sedan, so whether the car would come in this version or the other caught previously, is still a mystery. The design would remind you of cars like Fiat Palio, Hyundai Accent Viva and other notchbacks.
In our last interview with Mr Arun Malhotra, Chief Sales & Customer Care Officer, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra, he revealed that the vehicle would be launched by March 2013. So, we are a few weeks away to get the much awaited Verito compact sedan at M&M showrooms. The car has remained almost the same, it's just the boot has been added, means no compromise in the spaciousness of the vehicle, which is one of the best features with the new Verito.
Having sub 4-metre in length, the Vertio CS becomes eligible for the excise duty benefits, which suggests the car to become so competitive in price. Since Mahindra & Mahindra doesn't have any small petrol engine at the moment, so the car will be available in diesel only. The diesel engine is the same 1.5-litre k9k diesel that does its duty to the existing Verito as well, hence mileage too should be equal to that of the Verito. The full fledged Verito sedan is 4247mm in length with the boot area of 510-litre, so we are expecting the new Verito CS to have a boot space of approx 350-300 litre.
