Mahindra and Mahindra is all set to launch its flagship Mahindra XUV 500 SUV on 28thof September. The upcoming Mahindra XUV500 has been caught in camera during its test run on the Chennai roads. From the information gathered, the interiors of the Mahindra SUV are said to be bestowed with a classy, premium look that puts the new SUV a class apart from the rest of the SUVs from Mahindra’s stable. M&M envisage placing the new SUV as a potential competitor against Toyota Fortuner in the premium SUV segment.

Loaded with many features like, daytime running lamps, chunky alloy wheels, turn indicators mounted on the side rear view mirrors and many more to boast of, the Mahindra XUV500 is expected to be endowed with brute good looks. M&M intends to have the Mahindra XUV 500 price strategically placed slightly above its flagship model Mahindra Scorpio’s top-end variant in India. After the launch in India, the auto major foresees to export the SUV in the other markets like South Africa and European markets as well. As for Mahindra XUV 500 specifications, the SUV is going to house a 2.2 L CRDe Mahindra Scorpio engine producing a peak power of 140 Bhp and top torque of 320 Nm. A 5 speed or a six speed manual gearbox could be deployed based on the variants and a four-wheel drive is also on the board.

M&M, the parent company of SsangYong plans to launch SUVs Korando C and Rexton II next year. The Korean auto major had announced their new UI concept vehicle XIV-1 that is designed on the likes of Range Rover Evoque. The full glass roof line and the size are going to be the similar points in both the SUVs. The cutting-edge technology brought into the SUV is expected to cater to the urban requirements. Apparently, the Korean auto major has plans to introduce an electric vehicle based on their concept XIV-1 model.
