Both are performance oriented subcompact SUVs, but go about it in very different ways
The sporty side of the subcompact SUV segment is heating up with the launch of the Mahindra XUV300 TurboSport. It is based on the regular XUV300 but with an enhanced turbocharged petrol engine. Mahindra has differentiated it with a collection of subtle visual cues and new colour options too. The only direct rival in the market for the XUV300 TurboSport is the Hyundai Venue N Line which arrived not that long ago. Here’s a detailed specification comparison of both:

The new direct-injection turbocharged petrol engine in the TurboSport offers more performance than the N Line. However, the Mahindra only comes with a manual while the Hyundai only gets a dual-clutch automatic, offering very different driving experiences.
The Venue N Line gets mechanical improvements over the regular Venue Turbo by way of model-specific tuning for the suspension, steering, disc brakes all around and a sportier exhaust note. Meanwhile, the XUV300 TurboSport does not seem to get any such updates over the regular XUV300.

Mahindra is offering the XUV300 TurboSport based on the W6, W8 and W8(O) variants of the regular XUV300. The dual-tone exterior is limited to the W8 and W8(O) trims. Meanwhile, the Hyundai Venue N Line is offered in two variants - N6 and N8.
-
In their top variants, both subcompact SUVs are similarly well-equipped with features like a sunroof, leatherette upholstery, LED lighting, alloy wheels and cruise control.
-
The top XUV300 offers dual-zone climate control, steering modes, front parking sensors and rain sensing wipers over the Venue.
-
The top-spec Venue N Line gets a four-way power adjustable driver’s seat, reclining rear seat, rear AC vents, wireless charging pad, and a twin-tip exhaust over the XUV300 TurboSport. It also gets a larger central display and a more modern design for the dashboard.
-
Both have similar safety equipment too with up to six airbags, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitor, and disc brakes all around. However, the XUV300 boasts a 5-star crash safety rating from GNCAP while the Venue has not been put through the same tests.

Price Range
Mahindra XUV300 TurboSport |
Hyundai Venue N Line |
Rs 10.35 lakh to Rs 12.9 lakh |
Rs 12.16 lakh to Rs 13.3 lakh |
The Mahindra XUV300 TurboSport with its manual transmission and lower-spec entry point seems a lot more affordable at first. However, at the top end, it is only Rs 40,000 more affordable than the Venue N Line. So, in terms of sheer engine output the XUV300 TurboSPort offers more value but as an overall package, it is somewhat evenly matched with the sportier Venue.
