Mahindra is updating their flagship product - XUV5OO soon, the vehicle is reportedly launching next month. The very first undisguised images of the refreshed XUV5OO reveal its new stylistic updates, this is the mid-life facelift of the SUV since its launch in 2011.
Starting with the changes, the front fascia gets new family grille that debuted with the second-gen Scorpio - honeycomb mesh with black slats and chrome highlights. The headlight gets ‘S’ shaped LED inserts, expect it to be similar to that of the Scorpio’s ‘LED eyebrow’.
The front bumper receives massive alterations, it now sports a wider air dam, while fog lamp housing is placed closer to the headlamps and gets a chrome surround too. The side profile is kept as it is, save for the new set of 10-spoke alloys. There are no pictures of the rear profile but expect subtle changes.
Interiors of the vehicle are carry forwarded, but it receives noticeable changes in the central console. It seems to pack a larger touch screen, updated infotainment system (just like the new Scorpio) and the cabin reduces its top glossy parts. The rest of the features will be kept same.
XUV5OO facelift will continue to be powered by the same 2.2-liter mHawk140, direct-injection Variable Geometry Turbocharged (VGT) diesel engine. The 2179cc oil burner generates 140 bhp @ 3750 rpm and max torque of 330 Nm in-between 1600-2800 rpm. The motor will be mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, just like the current model.
