Nearly two years since launch, the Mahindra XUV700 has now landed on Australian shores. The Indian carmaker is offering the SUV in only two variants – AX7 and AX7L – priced at Indian equivalent of around Rs 20.72 lakh and Rs 22.41 lakh which is actually lower than the prices here. It also comes with a 7-year/1.5 lakh km (whichever is earlier) warranty package.
Any Change In Powertrain Options?
The Australian-spec XUV700 is only available with the 2-litre turbo-petrol engine as offered in India at the same tune, making 200PS and 380Nm. Furthermore, it is only available with the 6-speed automatic.
Back home, that same engine also gets the choice of a 6-speed manual. Furthemore, the XUV700 here also gets the choice of a 2.2-litre diesel unit (up to 185PS/450Nm), with the same gearbox options. This engine can also be had with an optional all-wheel-drive (AWD) system, although only with the top-spec AX7 and AX7L automatic variants.
