For quite some time now, the largest car maker of the country, Maruti Suzuki India is facing a slowdown in the sales of its cars in the entry-level segment. But this big player has new plans and ways to tap into the sales of this segment; Maruti India has announced that it is going to roll out a new small entry-level car Maruti Cervo in India around the time of Diwali this year. Like every other car from the stable of this auto giant, Maruti Cervo has been rendered top-class design and impressive fuel efficiency. This car would help the company boost the sales volumes and increase the market share. In the domestic market of Suzuki this car is traversing Japanese roads with the badge of Suzuki Cervo.

The Indian version of this car will derive power from the refurbished FD8 petrol powerplant which is known for its fuel efficiency. Reportedly, the Maruti Cervo would differ from Suzuki Cervo on a lot of levels from both features and specifications point of view. This would lead to a difference in the prices that were earlier speculated to fall under the range of Maruti Alto’s price. Some time back, MSI had announced that the company is replacing the highly-acclaimed small car Maruti 800 which had literally put the Indian population on four wheels. The said Maruti Cervo is the expected replacement of the legendary Maruti 800 which would be positioned below Maruti Alto as its younger sibling.

This new car features highly sophisticated and striking specifications and design philosophy; the mileage is also claimed to be over 25 kmpl. This neoteric entrant in the Indian car market is expected to take on the likes of the forthcoming fuel efficient versions of Tata Nano such as CNG, diesel and electric versions. The Indian version of Cervo will be housed with a lot of features like AC with vents, body colored door handles and bumpers; high-level security features like ABS and airbags would also be made available. Expected to rival the likes of Maruti Cervo is the small car Hyundai Eon which is already emerging as a significant player of entry-level small car segment.
