Maruti Baleno: The Baleno continued to dominate the sales chart once again with a market share of over 43 per cent. However, it has gone down by nearly 6 per cent when compared its year-on-year figures.
Hyundai Elite i20: The Baleno was closely followed by the Elite i20. Hyundai managed to ship over 14,000 units of the Elite i20. The Hyundai hatchback has the second highest market share of almost 40 per cent.
Toyota Glanza: The Baleno-based Glanza currently holds a market share of 7.18 per cent but its MoM figures went down by nearly 1.5 per cent. On the flip side, Toyota’s premium hatchback managed to surpass its average monthly sales over the past six months by more than 800 units.
Volkswagen Polo: Holding its fourth spot, the Polo bettered its September figures by more than 100 units. As a result, its market share has shot up from 4.65 per cent to 6.14 per cent.
Honda WR-V: Honda is the only brand that offers two models in this segment. The Japanese carmaker shipped 1,367 units of the WR-V last month, six units less when compared to its average monthly sales over the past six months. What’s good though is that it still saw a positive growth of almost 2 per cent in terms of MoM figures.
Honda Jazz: The Jazz continued to be the least popular premium hatchback with only 750 units shipped in October. Even then, its MoM figures witnessed a growth of over 15 per cent as it bettered its September figures by more than 100 units.
