- The official sketch gives us a glimpse of the XL6’s front and rear end.
- Maruti has confirmed that the MPV will be sold through Nexa dealerships.
- It is likely to be priced at a premium over the standard Ertiga.
- It gets a redesigned front end along with updated rear and middle row with captain seats compared to the Ertiga.
- The XL6 might not get the Ertiga’s 1.5-litre diesel option.
In the run up to the launch of the XL6 MPV, Maruti has released a sketch of the upcoming car. The teaser sketch gives us a glimpse of the MPV’s front and rear profile. However, it does not reveal anything new about the XL6 since various spy shots have already revealed the MPV in its entirety.
Based on the Ertiga, the XL6 looks largely similar to the standard MPV except for the new front fascia. Up front, it features a redesigned grille flanked by reworked headlamps with LED DRLs. The bumper has also been updated and gets refreshed fog lamp housings and a faux skid plate. The only visible changes at the sides and the rear include body cladding, roof rails, blacked out alloy wheels and an updated rear bumper with faux skid plates. The XL6 also features updated L-shape LED tail lamp detailing which is not offered with the Ertiga.
Recently, the XL6 was spied again. While the earlier car was finished in Nexa Blue, the most recent one featured a new brown colour. We expect this to be the launch colour for the XL6. Other colour options on the XL6 are likely to be similar to that of the Ertiga, which is available in five colours - red, grey, silver, white and blue (could be replaced by Nexa Blue).
Maruti is expected to offer the XL6 in two variants only - Zeta and Alpha - which are likely to be based on the ZDI and ZDI+ variants of the Ertiga, albeit with more features. The XL6 will get additional features like LED headlamps with DRLs, captain seats (second row), cruise control and black leather upholstery over the Ertiga.
The XL6 is likely to be priced at a premium over the Ertiga petrol (Rs 6.55 lakh to Rs 10.05 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi). It will rival the likes of the 7-seater Marazzo, which retails from Rs 10.35 lakh to Rs 14.68 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India).
