Maruti India witnesses 28 percent hike in sales figures
According to latest reports, Indian automobile giant Maruti Suzuki is now getting some good news from market. Sources said that Maruti Suzuki car sales in South India is now increased up to 28 percent and are further experiencing faster growth rate compared to other areas due to company's increased market focus.Reports suggest that Maruti India car sales in south India were earlier stuck at 20 percent of national sales but with favorable market condition and focused strategies, company amplifies the figures high enough to create milestone.
Chief GM, marketing, Maruti Suzuki, Shashank Srivastava said that company was earlier considered as north India oriented company. Maruti India earned an annual CAGR of 11 percent in between 2001 and 2006, whereas remaining parts of India were getting 12-12.5 per cent. He further added that, in past four years i.e. from 2007-2010, sales report indicated that in South India company received an annual CAGR of 14-14.5 per cent which is quite high compared to any other region.
He commented that due to expansion in dealer network, great marketing strategies and addition of new cars in India including diesel variants of existing cars assisted Maruti India in gaining growth in South India. He said that due to all these reason, the south market which was earlier adding only 20-22 per cent of Maruti's total sales, is now delivering over 28 per cent.
It is worth mentioning that North India sales accounts for 30 percent of total sales figures in India. However according to relevant sources, in southern region, Kerala offers quite high sales figure to the company. Shashank Srivastava said that Maruti India holds 70 percent of market share in Kerala due to presence of good dealership network. He commented that Kerala offers good fortunes to small compact cars in comparison with big cities which focus on sedans.He said that company is having around 300 dealers in south India and recently Maruti launched the Dakshin Dare car rally from Chennai.
