Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) has achieved another milestone by installing over one lakh of its KB-series engines since October last year. The KB-series engine is Bharat Stage-IV emission norms compliant and the company start using it in Maruti Ritz and Maruti A-Star. Since then it has been fitted in over one lakh cars within 10 months. MSI planned to install it in other existing and new car models. However, there is no official word about it. But the spokesperson of the company says that it will be there in other cars as well in next 3 to 5 years. For petrol versions of Maruti A-Star and Maruti Ritz, the company produces 1 litre and 1.2 litre engines respectively. These engines are being manufactured in only MSI's Gurgaon facility. The company produces Bharat Stage-III, Bharat Stage-IV and Euro-V emission norms compliant KB-series engines.
