The Maruti Invicto’s features list will include some new comfort, convenience and safety equipment borrowed from its premium partner
Update (05/07/23): Maruti Invicto has been launched in India, with prices starting from Rs 24.79 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom pan India).
Until early 2022, most Maruti cars were lagging on most of the modern tech offered by their competitors. This changed with the introduction of the facelifted Maruti Baleno, which brought some first-time features for the carmaker, and was further upped with the Grand Vitara. Now, with the Toyota Innova Hycross-based Maruti Invicto, set to launch on July 5, we have compiled a list of the 10 features that will debut for the marque:
A 10-inch Touchscreen
Until the facelifted Baleno was offered with a new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit in 2022, the carmaker was only offering a 7-inch touchscreen unit across its Arena and Nexa lineup. The same screen was then offered on various other models such as the Brezza, Jimny and Grand Vitara. But with the Invicto coming in, Maruti is set to introduce an even bigger central display (10.1-inch to be precise) on the Invicto.
Powered Driver Seat With Memory
Toyota has provided the Innova Hycross with an 8-way power-adjustable driver seat, which will be on offer with the Maruti Invicto as well. This will be accompanied by the memory function for the driver seat too, just like the Toyota MPV. While the latter is a rare feature among mass-market offerings priced below Rs 30 lakh, the former was noted as a missing comfort on the Grand Vitara.

Dual-zone Climate Control
The Invicto will also become the first car from Maruti’s stable to come with a dual-zone (front and rear) climate control feature. There is also a control panel at the end of the central console and can be adjusted by the middle row passengers. Like the Toyota Innova Hycross, the Maruti MPV will also get a pollution filter in its AC unit.
9-speaker Premium Sound System
Maruti will offer the Invicto with a 9-speaker premium audio system. It will be the first time that the carmaker will incorporate a branded music setup (here, from JBL) while also providing a subwoofer. Until now, Maruti only offered Arkamys tuning for its sound systems.
Front Parking Sensors
Among all the new comfort and convenience features that will be offered on a Maruti car for the first time, there’s a few safety additions too, including front parking sensors. Until now, Maruti has only offered it as part of optional accessories for some models across its lineup. Even the Maruti models with a 360-degree camera do not get front sensors.

Ottoman Seats
Probably the most significant standout comfort feature of the Innova Hycross, which will soon be available on the Maruti MPV as well. We’re referring to the Ottoman seats in the captain seat specification. These slide back to give you acres of leg room and then recline backwards to near horizontal, while the calf support cushions slide forward.
18-inch Alloy Wheels
Maruti’s current flagship, the Grand Vitara, is equipped with 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. However, with the Invicto coming in July, the carmaker will give it the same 18-inch alloy wheels as seen on its Toyota counterpart. These will be the biggest wheels offered on a Maruti car from the factory.
Electronic Parking Brake
The Invicto will also mark the introduction of an electronic parking brake with auto-hold on a Maruti car. The auto-hold feature comes in handy in city drives wherein you don’t need to keep your foot on the brake pedal during neck-to-neck traffic.
Powered Tailgate
With the Invicto, Maruti will introduce another convenience feature to its lineup: a powered tailgate. As seen on the Toyota Innova Hycross, Maruti too might provide this feature only on the higher-spec variants of the Invicto.
ADAS
The most important safety feature to debut on the Invicto will be advanced driver assistance systems or ADAS. Its suite is expected to consist of the same features as the Toyota MPV with adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, and lane keep assist.

BONUS: USB Type-C Ports And Rear Sunshades
Maruti will now also equip its models with type-C charging ports, starting with the Invicto. Like on the Toyota Innova Hycross, the new Maruti MPV may also get multiple type-C ports for the front and second rows. Another new addition to Maruti’s range will be sunshades for the second-row passengers.
Note: While these two features are directly provided from the factory in the case of the Toyota Innova Hycross and thereby the Maruti Invicto, you can also have them as an aftermarket accessory (12V socket with a type-C port in the case of the former).
Which of these features do you wish to see more of in the future on new Maruti cars? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
