Maruti renames old Dzire as 'Swift Dzire Tour'
Maruti Suzuki India has not discontinued the old version of Maruti Swift Dzire after the launch of its new version in February this year. The original version of Swift Dzire will now be sold only to the taxi and fleet operators from next month onwards i.e. April 2012. This taxi-spec version of the Swift Dzire will be known as Swift Dzire Tour. This first generation Dzire will be available in the base variants only, LXi being the petrol variant and LDi being the diesel one.

The Swift Dzire Tour will have all the standard features that include AC, power steering steel wheels, front and rear bumpers, outside rear-view mirrors and black door knobs. The petrol variant of Swift Dzire Tour is priced at Rs. 4.88 lakh whereas the diesel variant is priced at Rs. 5.91 lakh in India (ex-showroom Delhi). The Swift Dzire Tour has a number of competitors like Tata Indigo XL, Toyota Etios, Mahindra Verito.

The Tata Indigo XL petrol variant is priced at Rs. 6.29 lakh and the diesel variant is priced at Rs. 5.91 lakh. Toyota Etios price for petrol variant is Rs. 5.14 lakh and for diesel variant is Rs. 6.69 lakh. The Mahindra Verito prices for petrol and diesel variant are Rs. 5.04 lakh and Rs. 5.97 lakh respectively. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom, Delhi prices.
