The most awaited vehicle of the year, Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 is finally here. The giant has today rolled out the vehicle which has been the biggest story of the year cracked by CarDekho months back. The car has come out in a total 3 variants namely Alto 800 Std, Alto 800 LX and Alto 800 LXi priced at at Rs 2.44 lakh, 2.76 lakh and 2.99 lakh respectively. There are other three CNG variant as well launched priced at Rs 3.19 lakh, 3.37 lakh and 3.56 lakh respectively.

The new Alto 800 has been made available in a total five exciting colours, blazing red pearl, torque blue pearl, granite grey, white and silver, moreover there are two interior colour schemes (Brown or Grey) offered for the first time in the car. The company which claims the vehicle to be the next people’s car, already shocked everyone by already receiving over 10000 bookings even before the prices were announced, which clearly shows that how eagerly everybody was waiting for the car. Now when the car is finally out, that too at an exciting price of Rs We are sure that the car is the next big thing from the stables of Maruti Suzuki India.

New Alto 800 VS Old Alto

And like we already reported, with the launch of brand new Alto 800, the existing alto will be phased out, however the Alto k10 will be there. If we compare the outgoing model with the Alto 800, the latter is sportier, has more legroom and headroom and possesses the advanced features like Driver side SRS airbags; improved interiors with better quality plastic, front power window, contemporary looking dashboard and many more.

While the engine performance too has gone better, having powered by the 12-Valve, 796cc, 3-cylinder engine, the new Alto 800 churns out the maximum of 47bhp (improvement of 3bhp over earlier version) and 69Nm of torque (6Nm increased), in fact the mileage too has gone better, now it offers the class-leading 22.7kmpl, whereas the outgoing Alto has 19.7kmpl. So all these things clearly indicates that the new Alto 800 has got all what it takes to be a perfect city car.

The company has also launched the CNG version of the car, which has been claimed to return the outstanding 30.26kmpl of mileage; however that would cost around Rs 75,000 extra to the buyer. At this price, Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 has got no direct competitor, however the other two budget cars; Hyundai Eon and Chevrolet Spark will have to face the heat for sure.
