Maruti Suzuki awarded as 'Manufacturer of the year'

Maruti Suzuki India received its new year gift recently as it was crowned with the “Manufacturer of the year” 2010 recognition/ award from the most reputable and distinguished award in the auto industry CNBC TV18 in association with ICICI car loans and Overdrive. The prodigy auto company since its inception has always been able to target the right buyers with its winning cars which are affixed with great technological prowess as well as are competitively priced for the Indian auto sector. Maruti Suzuki stands out due to its brand value in India and the massive after sales network which tightly grips the domestic auto sector.

Maruti had a great 2010 which rightly reflects in its accelerating sales graph. Maruti Suzuki India was rejoicing in the last quarter of 2010 as the company enjoyed a sales of more than one lakh units including exports for two consecutive months. Maruti Suzuki India reported a sales upsurge of 26.9 per cent for the year 2010. The company also increased in its portfolio by adding Maruti Ritz and Maruti Astar. The company also introduced a new car version of its flagship car model Maruti Alto K10. Maruti Eeco was another wonder which it added in its existing product profile.

All these achievements haven't put a stop on Maruti's plans in India in 2011. Firstly Maruti has to struggle in the highly competitive Indian auto market to maintain its 50 per cent of market share. Secondly Maruti India is in the wake of increasing on its portfolio. Maruti this year is taking a leap from its comfort cocoon and stepped in the premium car segment with the most awaited premium sedan Maruti Kizashi. The sedan was first unveiled in the Delhi Auto Expo in 2010 and since then has been the talk of the town. Maruti is expected to price the car within the price band of Rs 12 to Rs 15 lakh. The Indian auto czar will continue to being new cars and would launch its new compact car Maruti Cervo in the same segment where it places Maruti Alto. Other than this, the company is also expected to enter the SUV segment in the domestic auto market with Maruti Jimmy. MSI will also launch the diesel version of its popular car Maruti Swift and Maruti SX4.

The parent auto company Suzuki also had a tie up with the German car makers Volkswagen which is sure to benefit the car admires. The Indian counterpart, Maruti on one hand has expertise of the compact car segment in the Indian auto market and on the other Volkswagen is known for its technological perfection. When these two meet, it will interesting to see how other car players survive in front of this lethal combination. As for now, Maruti remains optimistic about its position in the market and has a lot going on to offer the Indian buyers with nothing but the best.
