Maruti Swift Dzire and Ertiga Grab 2013 India Design Mark Award

Maruti Swift Dzire sedan and Ertiga MPV have been awarded with prestigious title – India Design Mark: Good Design Mark. This award is given to recognize product designers/products that improve our day-to-day life. The jury which has selected Swift Dzire and Ertiga consisted of India’s leading design experts and faculty members of different institutes that teach industrial designs. Simplicity of the design, trustworthy products, reliability, true value for money, responsible manufacturer is some of the parameters on which jury judged the product line-up.

This is the second consecutive time that Maruti Suzuki grabbed this Indian Design Mark award. Last year, Swift hatch and the WagonR won this prestigious award. The Swift Dzire, which sold 169,571 units in 2012-13 units and the Ertiga, which sold 76,375 units, are among the top-selling models in the country.

Commenting on the award, C V Raman, executive director (Engineering), Maruti Suzuki India, said: “The core philosophy at Maruti Suzuki is to design products which have the highest standards in design and engineering. This prestigious award for the second consecutive year is an acknowledgment of our passion and commitment to maintain the highest design standards for our cars. It also showcases our maturity in design engineering.”
