Mercedes-Benz A-Class Hatch and B-Class Diesel Launch within 4 Months

CarDekho was the first one to scoop about Mercedes-Benz India's plans of launching four new vehicles, and now we hear it from the company's top official, who said that there will four new models in India within four months. The company which is now at the no.3 position in the list of top-selling luxury car makers in India, plans to strengthen its position in the sub-continent by launching new models and enhancing it sales network.
As of now Mercedes-Benz B-Class (petrol) is the cheapest car sold by the German auto giant in India at a staring price of Rs 25 lakh, so to lure more buyers the company has now plans to launch an even more competitively priced vehicle in the form of A-Class luxury hatchback. The A-Class hatchback will be the most affordable Merc ever sold in India. Mercedes-Benz India will also launch the B-Class diesel and a new GL-Class luxury SUV within four months.
While inaugurating 'Benchmark' dealership in Vadodara, Mercedes Benz India MD and CEO Eberhard Kern talked about company's plans of expanding its dealership base to smaller cities. The demand for luxury cars have risen in smaller cities in last few years, which has attracted all the three German players- BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz to open the sales outlet in tier-II and tier-III cities. Mercedes-benz India is planning to expand to Rajkot in mid 2013.
"At present big cities like Mumbai and Delhi contribute 45% of our sales in India. The demand is also coming from smaller cities. So we want be close to our customers," said Kern.
