Mercedes-Benz A-Class Launch on 30 May 2013

German luxury carmaker, Mercedes Benz will roll out three new models in India within three months, which includes GL Class SUV to be launched on May 16 in New Delhi. Rest of the two vehicles lined-up for launch are B Class Diesel and the A-Class. The luxury carmaker will showcase the A-Class sports hatchback to a select group of audience on the 4th May, 2013. After the launch of GL CLass SUV, the company might launch the sports hatch in India on 30th May, 2013. Mercedes-Benz India has also previewed the first official images of A-Class on its Facebook page.

Initially, the A-Class will come via the completely built unit (CBU) route. After sometime, the Mercedes-Benz India will begin assembling the A-Class and the B-Class models at its Chakan plant in Pune, via completely knocked down (CKD) kits. The A-Class hatch will be the most affordable Merc car ever in India. It is expected that the hatchback will be available with two engine options, a 1.6-litre petrol and a 1.8-litre turbo diesel engine. Both engines are likely to be coupled to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox as standard.

Mercedes Benz Concept A Class

Mercedes-Benz with A-Class hatch and B-Class diesel aiming to strengthen its position in the Indian auto industry. As of now Mercedes-Benz B-Class (petrol) is the cheapest vehicle sold by the company in India. The upcoming A-Class hatchback will be positioned below the B-Class, and likely to be launched both in the petrol and diesel versions.
