Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG teased ahead of its launch

Mercedes-Benz India is doing final preparation for the introduction of 2014 Mercedes E 63 AMG, which is scheduled to be launched on July 25th. Before the launch event, the German automaker is aiming to publicize the upcoming super sedan on various social media platforms, and to create buzz among car enthusiasts across the nation. The company has teased the sketch of new E63 AMG at its official Facebook Page saying "A business sedan with a powerful AMG engine, pioneering design and thrilling driving dynamics. A super-sedan is on its way".

Few days back, Mercedes-Benz India launched the new 2014 E-Class in the country at Rs. 41.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), now the AMG model will soon join the line-up. The vehicle will come via CBU route, so we expect a huge price tag with this. Under the hood, the new E63 AMG gets a 5.5-litre V8 biturbo engine that develops two different power outputs - 557bhp, 720Nm and 585bhp, 800Nm.

This is a healthy improvement of up to 32bhp and 20Nm over the current models. The overall engine weight of 204kg has helped to give an excellent power:weight ratio. The super sedan sprints to 100kmph form stand still in mere 3.6 seconds, while attains a top speed of 250kmph. The engine is mated to a 4matic setup, which transmits power to all-four wheels. The transmission for the E63 AMG will be a 7-speed speedshift automatic gearbox.

Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG will sport a special AMG "A-Wing", allowing the lower intakes and twin-blade grille to be placed right above it. The rear too gets a black finished rear diffuser and an AMG exclusive dual exhaust setup at the rear. On the inside, it now gets the AMG touches like silver seatbelts and Alcantara inserts to the Nappa leather steering wheel and others.
