Mercedes-Benz Imposing 2% Price Hike From 2016

Buying a Benz, It's time to hurry as Mercedes will be imposing a price hike on their entire model range from January 1, 2016. The hike will be different on different models and will go up to 2%. This move is being made in order to equalize the higher input costs going into these vehicles. As of now, Mercedes-Benz has a 24 model lineup in India ranging from Rs 27.5 lacs to Rs 2.7 crore. (ex-showroom).
Commenting on the move, Mercedes-Benz India Managing Director & CEO Roland Folger said: "with rising input costs, we are compelled to make some price adjustments to our product range to protect the investment of our customers in the brand, maintain our premium brand positioning in the market and sustain a profitable business." He added that despite the increase in price, customers have a range of tailor-made financial offerings they can benefit from like STAR Finance, STAR Agility, STAR Lease or Corporate STAR Lease to drive home their dream car.
The company has launched 14 products this year so far. The latest launch of theirs was AMG GT S at Rs. 2.4 Cr (ex-showroom Delhi). This is the 5th AMG that has been launched in India this year and is developed completely in-house by Mercedes AMG department. Replacing the SLS AMG, this supercar is powered by an all-new 4.0-litre twin turbo V8 that churns out 510 PS of power along with 650 NM of torque.
