The updated model made its debut in March this year
Mercedes-Benz India will launch the facelifted CLA sedan on November 30. The car made its global debut ahead of the New York motor show earlier this year and gets a host of cosmetic tweaks. It now gets a diamond pin radiator grille across all models along with a new front bumper that features a range of trim strip options. The CLA’s rear has been updated as well and the tailpipes now sit flush in the rear bumper, while the LED tail lights have been tweaked.
The model also gets the new 'cavansite blue metallic' exterior paint shade though it remains to be seen if that will be offered in India. A new set of wheel designs are available as well. LED headlamps are available as a part of optional equipment as is hands-free access, which allows the boot to be opened via motion sensors in the rear bumper.
Changes to the interior include new upholstery and trim parts, as well as chrome-plated controls and an updated instrument cluster. Additionally, the cabin sports a slimmer, 8-inch, free-standing infotainment display as an option for the Audio 20 USB and Audio 20 CD systems with Apple CarPlay connectivity offered as well.
While the car does get around 11 powertrain options globally, the India-spec CLA is likely to continue with its existing petrol and diesel engines. The petrol CLA 200 is powered by a 2.0-litre, inline 4-cylinder engine that makes 183PS and 300Nm, while the diesel CLA 220 d gets a 2.1-litre, inline 4-cylinder engine producing 136PS and 300Nm. Both engines come paired with a 7-speed automatic gearbox.
