Mercedes-Benz launched S-Guard in India

on Monday, Mercedes-Benz has launched its luxury limousine S-Guard in India at Rs 6 crore (ex-showroom). The hefty priced car is loaded with advanced protective features to provide safety from ballistic and firearms attack. The car is targeted at celebrities, corporate leaders and government officials. The limousine will be brought here as a completely built unit (CBU) from its plant in Germany. Suhas Kadlaskar, Mercedes-Benz India Member of the Board of Management, told reporters in the capital that the exact price of the car would be declared once the first booking comes and import duties and other specifications. This car is developed on the basis of Mercedes-Benz S 600. The Mercedes-Benz S-Guard comes loaded with a 12 cylinder bi-turbo mill with a displacement of 5513cc that produces 380 kW/517hp of peak power and awesome 830 Nm of top torque. The top speed of the vehicle is 210 km/h.
The newly launched car has been developed to resistance level B6/B7, as tested and certified by international organisations. In addition to this, safety features like a fire-extinguishing system, run-flat tyres and a self sealing fuel tank is provided. Outside rear view mirrors, door gaps, door locks and roof frame struts are also incorporated in to the security concept. Other safety features include front airbags, sidebags, windowbags, belt tensioners and NECK-PRO head restraints.
