With the facelift, the 3-Door Hatch, Convertible, and JCW Hatch now sport a larger radiator front grille flanked by typical round LED headlamps (which get fog lamps). In addition, there are vertically stacked air intakes in the front bumpers of all three. They also get black highlights on the door handles, front fenders, bonnet and boot lid, around the headlamps, radiator grille, and tail lamps. Not to forget, Mini’s logo and exhaust tailpipes now wear a gloss-black finish.
The three models look fairly similar in their side profiles, except that the 3-Door Hatch and Convertible get 17-inch alloy wheels while the JCW’s are 18 inches. The Union Jack-styled LED tail lamps remain unchanged. However, the rear fog light is now integrated into the rear apron as a narrow LED unit.
Also, the Mini JCW has a new hexagonal-style radiator front grille, with the ‘John Cooper Works’ insignia finished in red at the bottom.
The three cars are now available in a total of 11 colour options: Island Blue (new), Rooftop Grey (new), British Racing Green, Chilli Red, Midnight Black, Moonwalk Grey, Pepper White, White Silver, Enigmatic Black (optional), Zesty Yellow, and Rebel Green. The last two are limited to the Convertible and JCW Hatch, respectively.
On the inside, the cars get two optional interior layouts: Silver Chequered and Aluminium. Mini has now equipped the three with features, including an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with touch-sensitive buttons, cruise control, ambient lighting, and LED surround for the instrument cluster, and a Harmon Kardon sound system (probably optional). There’s an optional Mini Wired Package as well, including a navigation system and wireless charging.
Safety features in all three include cornering brake control, vehicle stability control, dual front airbags, and run-flat tyres.
The 3-Door Hatch and Convertible get a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine (mated to a 7-speed DCT) producing 192PS and 280Nm. The JCW is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol unit (paired to an 8-speed automatic) generating 231PS and 320Nm. Mini has also provided them with drive modes, including Green and Sport.
