New 2012 Tata Merlin sneaked again in Pune

Tata Motors is currently busy testing its new Tata Safari which has been renamed as Tata Merlin. This new 2012 Tata Merlin was captured during its test routine on the roads of Pune. The 2012 Tata Merlin is quite a bit inspired from Land Rover SUV. However, this new Tata Merlin will come with 2.2 litre of DICOR engine that keeps the capacity to churn out a power of 140 PS at the rate of 4000 RPM along with producing 320 Nm of torque.

According to the rumors, the 2012 Tata Merlin will come with improved quality plastics as compared to the older Tata Safari. It is expected that Tata Merlin will be launched in the month of October 2011. Tata Merlin’s major aim is to bridge the gap between Tata Aria and Tata Safari. 2012 Tata Merlin will be proffered in two versions, 4 x 4 and 4 x 2. To give a tough fight Force One SUV, Tata Merlin is surely all geared up and prepared. Let’s hope now Tata Merlin launch happens on time.

Besides 2012 Tata Merlin, Tata Motors is also planning to launch a cheaper version of Tata Aria. Since the time of the launch, Tata Aria became the bestselling car and now with the cheaper version of Tata Aria, its popularity will surely increase to a great extend. However, no exact date of launch has been finalized for Tata Aria 4X2 version.

The major concern for the Tata Aria’s cheaper version is the price. According to the grapevine, Tata Motors has already triggered the booking procedure of Tata Aria 4X2 version. Since a past few months, the car sales in the country are not very impressive and in these slow sales, Tata Aria came out shining like a star. Tata Motors sold about 356 Tata Aria, that certainly did well for Tata Motors. Other prominent models offered by Tata Motors include Tata Safari, Tata Winger, Tata Manza, Tata Indica range, Tata Indigo range, Tata Nano and many others.
