Honda Cars India is all set to launch the fourth generation Honda City in India tomorrow. The bookings for the new City has already been commenced and the vehicle has been receiving an excellent response across the nation. Globally unveiled on 25th November 2013 in India, the City pricing and variants will be revealed tomorrow at its launch.
Unlike the previous generation, the new Honda City for the first time will be made available with diesel powertrain. The gasoline model will continue to be powered by the renowned 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine that develops 117bhp of power. It will be offered with two transmission options- a five-speed manual and an automatic transmission. The diesel variant will get the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine, which also does duty to the Amaze compact sedan. This engine churns out a maximum power output of 98bhp and is paired to a six-speed manual transmission.
Interestingly, the diesel version is claimed to be the country's most fuel efficient car with a whooping 26kmpl of mileage (ARAI certified). The new Honda City petrol delivers a fuel efficiency of 17.8kmpl when mated to a manual transmission, while the automatic variant claimed to be more fuel efficient with 17.9kmpl of mileage.
The exact pricing details of the sedan will be announced tomorrow, but we expect it to be priced around Rs. 7.5 lakh to 13-lakh. So, stay tuned to CarDekho, we will bring you the live action directly from the launch.
