New BMW 5 Series to offer 26.7 km/lt?

If you had in mind that the most economical and sparing car in India was Tata Nano, then here comes a big surprise for you. BMW India introduced a brand new mega frugal 520d EfficientDynamics that apparently gives a decent mileage of 26.7 km per litre, which beats Tata Nano that gives a mileage of approximately 20 km per litre. A brand new and latest bimmer version is just added to BMW assembly and is expected to hit the roads in September 2011.

There were some reports in the market that BMW India will soon be adding up a sturdier, greener and fuel efficient power plants. The engine that has been put in the latest 520d EfficientDynamics keeps the capacity to churn out 181 bhp of power and is a 2.0 litre turbo charged diesel engine, which is accompanied by 6 speed gearbox. The new BMW EfficientDynamics expertise comprise of stop-start, better final drive ration, low-rolling confrontation tyres and finally brake-energy recovery, which will help the car to save more fuel.

The new fuel efficient engine might land in India soon along with BMW India is also planning to import it till it comes to the country. And the figures of the fuel economy that has been revealed by the firm are acquired from European cycle. Indian buyers are more concerned about the fact that how much mileage does a car give, which means how many kilometers does a car run in 1 litre of fuel. So therefore, the latest BMW 520d EfficientDynamics is expected to be loved and appreciated by Indian consumers as it will provide an impressive mileage of 23 km in one litre of fuel.

I'm using a 520d since past 3 months. The car is hardly giving a mileage of 10 km/lt. I don't understand how the company claims more then double of it..
