New Ford Figo VS Competition

India's most favourite, the B Segment is on all time high, we have seen some major launches or facelifts in the premium hatchback segment in recent times. The latest to join the band wagon is the refreshed Ford Figo, which has come out carrying some remarkable changes with almost no change in the pricing. Ford India has today rolled out the facelift version of its flagship model, the Figo, which in the matter of the fact changed the fortune of Ford in India. One thing that would help the new Figo do continuously better is the competitive pricing, where the petrol version has been kept at Rs 3.85 lakh, the base diesel costs 4.82 lakh (prices are ex-showroom, New Delhi).

The additional features that the new Figo has come up with include revamped headlamps and tail lamps, new steering column mounted audio controls, alloy wheels, new bumper and a new seat fabric design, which has certainly helped the vehicle go more feature rich, however no mechanical changes have been made. Having offered the superb mileage of 20.0kmpl, class-leading boot area, one of the best in class AC, and now even better features and accessories the car is no doubt one of the best hatches available in India today.

Recently, we saw the facelifted Ritz, Nissan Primo festive edition, new Indica eV2, Toyota Etios Liva TRD Sportivo, Fiat Punto Absoulte Edition and some more, so it will be interesting to see who does how in the festive season. But ever since the new Figo Facelift is not just a limited or festive edition, it's a new vehicle if not the next generation model, so we tried to compare the new figo with its closest competitors including Maruti Suzuki Swift, Maruti Suzuki Ritz, Toyota Etios Liva, hyundai i10, and Chevrolet Beat.

New Ford Figo VS Maruti Suzuki Swift

Being the segment topper, Maruti Suzuki Swift is certainly the closest competitor of the new Ford Figo, but our comparison is more on the features, performance, looks, pricing and other important factors than badges. Where Ford Figo has more spaciousness and better quality interiors, Maruti Suzuki Swift has all what it takes to be an ideal car, it has looks, better engine performance and above all the easy availability of service centres across India.On pricing it certainly is the Figo taking a fair lead, but on the whole Swift is a better package having the better mileage, appearance and the brand loyalty, however Figo is a better value for money product.

New Ford Figo VS Maruti Suzuki Ritz

Maruti Suzuki India that brought the facelifted Maruti Ritz some days back is no doubt the other closest competitor of the new Figo as both are good value for money cars, and we personally love both for what they are. Whereas on looks, interiors and spaciousness, it is the Figo that scores more, new Ritz is just outstanding in mileage, drivability and power output, yes the appearance is something that has failed to impress most, but who can deny that expecting more from a car at this price would not be fair, however the new Figo as well has been priced quite competitively.

New Ford Figo VS Toyota Etios Liva

The new Ford Figo has got more to offer than the Toyota Etios Liva. The latter however has got more space at the rear particularly than the Figo and is more fuel efficient, it actually costs more, that too with a huge margin. The new Figo is no doubt a better product overall than the Figo, it offers you the top-notch drivability, comfort, better interior quality with impressive fit and finish, larger boot space, ultra-modern features and a lot more. So it is the new Figo, that we would recommend our viewers.

New Ford Figo VS Hyundai i10

Hyundai is known for offering the best in class features in its cars, so as in the case of Hyundai i10, but the new Figo has certainly is now more feature rich than the earlier version, but still we won't claim it to have exceeded i10, we would keep both at the same level in features. But when it comes to spaciousness, boot area, engine performance and mileage, Ford Figo is a better product. On pricing as well, the difference is marginal.

New Ford Figo VS Chevrolet Beat

Where the newly launched Ford Figo scores more on power output, cabin spaciousness, boot area and list of features, Chevrolet Beat clearly beats the Figo in mileage figures and design. Chevrolet beat is unquestionably one of the best looking cars in the segment. While on the pricing, the difference is not very much between these two, so we leave it entirely upon the buyers.
