The 2020 Hyundai i20 is one of the most popular hatchbacks currently. In just two months, it bagged over 35,000 bookings. Currently, the introductory prices start from Rs 6.79 lakh to Rs 11.17 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). These prices were only applicable till December 31. Hyundai is expected to reveal the hiked prices of the i20 shortly. So, if you are planning to buy the new i20, here’s how much you have to wait in your city:

The Hyundai i20 does not seem to have a long waiting period, going by the booking figures. The maximum period is up to 12 weeks which you will face in Pune, Surat and Patna. Most of the metro cities have a waiting period of 4 to 6 weeks. The lowest waiting period you will face is up to 4 weeks in cities such as Jaipur, Thane, Mumbai and Hyderabad.
As per an earlier statement by Hyundai, the majority of the buyers have opted for the top-spec variants. The i20 comes in four trims: Magna, Sportz, Asta and Asta (O). You can choose between 24 variants with three engine options and five transmission options.
Hyundai i20 comes with an 83PS 1.2-litre petrol engine, a 100PS 1.5-litre diesel engine and a 120PS 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine. The petrol engine comes with the option of a 5-speed MT and a CVT. The diesel engine gets a 6-speed manual as standard. The turbo-petrol engine is available with the options of a 6-speed iMT (clutchless manual) and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.

The i20 comes with features such as an electric sunroof, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with connected car technology, an air purifier, a wireless charging pad, Bose 7-speaker setup, automatic climate control, cruise control and much more. The safety is covered by six airbags, TPMS, hill assist control, vehicle stability management and a rear parking camera.
The i20 rivals the likes of the Volkswagen Polo, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza, Honda Jazz and Tata Altroz. Its turbo variants are a direct rival to the Polo TSI and the newly introduced, Altroz iTurbo.
