It is further said that Maruti’s new MPV is going to compete with Mahindra Xylo which is currently one of the most popular MPVs in India. If reports are believed, the new MPV was scooped while it was on its way to Japan for final tests and approval. Resources further commented that the car is a 7-seater and is most likely to come fitted with same diesel motor that drives the Maruti SX4 diesel (90PS at 4000 RPM). However, there are speculations regarding the length of Maruti’s new MPV which might not stay under 4-meter length.

With sitting arrangement of 2 +3+2, the car is expected to share interiors same as new Maruti 2011 Swift and front exterior with Maruti SX4. It is said that, by keeping this strategy, Maruti wants to cut the manufacturing cost of the MPV. Also, the rear side of the car has no similarity with the R3 concept which was shown earlier by the company. With Maruti keeping all the details under-wrap, this hot news from Maruti India might create some buzz, with major players ready for launch of their new cars.
