The next generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class, the flagship sedan model will be launched possibly in China in 2013. The German carmaker, however will display the new S-Class design language and shape with a relief-like sculpture entitled "Aesthetics S" along with a projection display at its Paris Motor Show which is due 29th September.
This is not the first time that the automaker is using a work of art and hinting at the design of a model which will be launched in the future. Earlier it was in 2010 with a life-size clay sculpture of the second generation CLS sports sedan.
Gorden Wagener, Head of Design at Mercedes-Benz Cars said that the sculpture highlights the artistic aspect of design and with the design and proportions of "Aesthetics S”, Mercedes is communicating a modern sense of status, sensual shape and stylish sportiness. He further added that the design elements of the S-Class will find a way across the company’s future line-up.
Wagner also said that the characteristic lines of the S-Class have always represented the expression of automotive culture and the new S-Class will take forward the tradition with its striking lines while putting a face to the design philosophy over the coming years.
