Modified On Jun 01, 2013 12:41 PM By Amit

Few days back, Mercedes-Benz unveiled the all new 2014 S-Class at an event in Germany, and now the car has already reached the Chinese auto market. CarnewsChina team has managed to click some of the pictures of new S-Class, which was spotted in its cargo pallet at the Tianjin Binhai International Airport. Only S500 variant was spied at the Airport, and it is also expected that the China based S-Class model will make its first appearance at the 2013 Chengdu Auto Show in September.

The S500 variant spotted in China is a top end petrol model, which houses a 4.7-litre V8 engine, is capable of developing 448.8bhp of power and 700Nm of top torque. The engine is coupled to a 7G-Tronic Plus gearbox, which transmits power to the rear wheels.

It is also expected that rest of the petrol models of the new S-Class will also make their debut in Chinese market. The vehicle will compete against the likes of BMW 7-Series, Audi A8 and the Jaguar XJ in the Chinese market.

The new S-Class comes equipped with various new features, which enhances the overall beauty of the car. The same models will also come to the Indian auto market by the end of this year. It is well known that the demand for diesel cars in India are high, so we expect the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class to come in both diesel and petrol guise. Moreover, the German car maker is also likely to assemble the new S-Class here in India to price it competitive in the market.
