It is no secret, that Land Rover has been working on the new Range Rover and a lot of inside scoops have been shared over the internet. This will be the fourth-generation Range Rover and this is the first time that Range Rover will get aluminum monocoque chassis. The previous-generation Range Rover has been around since over a decade and its replace is due. This model has been designed by the Land Rover team under the leadership of Tata Motors. Our sources confirm that the new Range Rover will retain a similar profile like that of the outgoing version, however it will get some styling ques from that of the Evoque. The new Range Rover will have larger dimensions, which means more interior room than the current model.
The new platform on which the Range Rover will be based, will be shared by other Land Rover and even Jaguar models. We aren’t sure, but we can also expect some the platform to be shared by Tata Motors at a later stage. The new Range Rover is likely to be powered by the same 4.4-litre V8 oil burner. But we do expect an addition of compact and frugal V6 engines on which Jaguar Land Rover has been working on. Some time back, JLR had invested into for a new powertrain facility and something might come out from this plant. The Halewood-based auto maker is likely to unveil the new Range Rover in September at the upcoming Paris Motor Show and will be on sale in Europe sometime early next year. Watch out this space for more scoops.
