The Renault Clio has always been a popular car in countries like Argentina and Brazil. Somehow the football fever in these countries has always been associated with the Clio, perhaps due to the clever advertisement strategies of Renault. Renault has now announced that they will be showcasing the latest Renault Clio facelift at the Sao Paulo Motor Show on the 22nd of October.
The changes include a new re-designed front grille that looks like it has been taken from the Renault Dezire concept. The logo at the centre of the grille has also been enlarged to give it a more trademark look. The headlamps and fog lamps also get some changes. The headlamps feature a change in the shape along with the fog lamp enclosures. The rear changes include changed tail lights and a new bumper. The rear windshield also has minor changes.
The facelift Clio is expected to house the same 1.0-litre petrol engine for the Brazil version and the 1.2-litre petrol for Argentina. Now if you’re thinking this facelift might find its way to India, don’t think any further. Renault India has already confirmed that they have no interest in bringing the Clio to Indian shores. However there is always the possibility of the cosmetic changes finding their way to the Renault India cars.
