New Volkswagen Vento to be launched in 2011

Volkswagen represents luxury, comfort and value. Volkswagen time and again has come with products which are engineers marvel and crafted with perfection. Abbreviated as VW, Volkswagen has a noted global presence with range of auto motives which has rightly captured the taste of the car admirers. The German makers are now keen on capturing the Indian auto market and have aggressive marketing strategy for the same. The winning products with which Volkswagen has captured the Indian auto market are Volkswagen Beetle, Volkswagen Jetta, Volkswagen Polo, Volkswagen Vento, Volkswagen Passat, Volkswagen Phaeton, and Volkswagen Touareg. The auto giant hopes to capture 20 per cent of the market share by 2018. The company plans to achieve the above target by selling five million cars on the Indian soil. VW is also planning to open about 1,000 dealerships by 2018 which currently stands at 150.

Volkswagen is enjoying the fruits of the ever increasing Indian auto market by establishing its brand in almost all the segments from luxury premium sedans to small jazzy hatchbacks cars. In the race to capture the market, the auto giant is planning to revamp Volkswagen Vento. By next year, the company wishes to introduce, the new model of Volkswagen Vento in 1.4 litre petrol engine which will be less powerful than the current one. This new 1.4 litre petro engine is manufactured to gel with the low grade fuels. As the engine will be small, it is anticipated to be competitive with better fuel efficiency. The smaller engine will have the capacity to produce 84 hp and 132 Nm torque. As per the sources, the new model will be Rs 35k to Rs 65k below than the Volkswagen Vento 1.6 diesel variant.

The new Volkswagen Vento share its manufacturing platform with cars like the all new Chevrolet Aveo, Tata Manza, Maruti Swift Dzire. These cars all have the very famous V platform in common. This car may prove to be a nightmare for its rivals as the new petrol version looks promising with greater fuel efficiency and is priced economically. And for Volkswagen, it will witness long ques outside its store. The company also has extensive plans for the coming years, such as talks with the Japanese auto giants is on for manufacturing small car in the Indian auto market.
