Next Generation BMW 7-Series to be Unveiled at Auto Expo 2016

The new Bimmer is lighter, more luxurious, tech-loaded and houses next generation powertrains

The upcoming Auto Expo 2016 will witness a horde of new car launches. BMW is one of the automakers that has always offered products which have lived up to the test of times, be it luxury, performance or for off-roading; almost all have been highly successful. To continue this success streak, the carmaker last year revealed all new 7-series for its elite customers. This latest luxury on wheels, which is the benchmark in its segment, will be showcased at the forthcoming Indian Auto Expo 2016.

The sixth-generation model is droolworthy, thanks to the stylish modern design and innovative technologies integrated in it. The 2016 BMW 7-Series is crafted on a new platform which extensively uses carbon fibre in the body structure in combination with aluminum, steel and plastic, enabling the car to shrug off 130kgs of weight.

• Opting for Luxury Rear Seating Package will get you 7-inch COMAND tablet, heated front and rear armrests, rear ventilated and comfort seats, massage function, etc.
• Opting for Rear Executive Lounge Seating let you have more comfort and space. Sky Lounge Panorama Glass roof, Massage Function, smartphone holder, head-up display, adjustable rear entertainment screen, fold-out tablet, 7-inch touchscreen tablet are few luxury features amongst others.

Powertrains

• Diesel: BMW 730d powered by B57 6-cylinder motor that generates 265PS.
• Petrol: BMW 740i powered by 3.5 litre 6-cylinder engine producing 326HP and BMW 750i propelled by 4.4 litre V8 Twin Turbo engine generating 444HP. All the engines are paired to 8-speed automatic transmission. 

The new BMW 7-Series will be locally assembled at company’s Chennai manufacturing plant. The company has also localized components upto 50 percent, so it would certainly affect the pricing.
