Nissan accelerates production in India

Nissan Motor is in full swing and has begun achievability work towards not single but double production capacity to 4 lakhs units every year, which would be done at its plant located at Oragadam, close to Chennai. In the year of 2008, Renault and Nissan had signed and agreed to “Memorandum of Understanding” with state government of Tamil Nadu to construct a Greenfield plant. Currently this plant has approximately 3,200 workers. The treaty between these two partners was that they had to invest a whopping amount of Rs. 4,500 crore in this plant. This amount would be equally shared by both.

Nissan has a strong reputation as it manufactures superb quality cars, which are not only stylish but also loaded with super cool features. Momentum is also being gained by the constituent sourcing done by Nissan from India for its universal processes. According to the MD of Nissan India, Nissan has been successful to sell around 14000 cars in India and exported 56000 to not only Middle East but also to Africa and Europe. However, the figures do suggest that Nissan is concentrating on exports, but, their main preference is the India Market. The above units were sold from July 2010 till March 2011.

Nissan had around 32 dealers in India till March 2011, but the firm is expected to boost this mark to 100 dealers by the time of March 2013. Nissan is working very hard towards double production as its main aim to provide its consumers with best quality and stylish car.
