Japanese auto giant Nissan has announced a price hike across its Nissan and Datsun range of models. Nissan Group India will increase the prices, effective January 01, 2017, by up to Rs 30,000. The automaker highlighted in an official release that the hike is courtesy of rising raw material costs.

Mr Arun Malhotra, managing director, Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd., said, “The price increase comes as a result of rising input costs. The revision of prices will help us offset the impact of this and maintain our competitiveness in the industry.”
Before the price hike kicks in, though, customers – both the existing ones and those who plan to come on board soon – can enjoy a few days of respite. The automaker is running year-end offers on its existing range of cars. With the Micra, which has recently received updates, Nissan is offering an interest rate of 8.99 per cent along with first year free insurance and exchange bonus of up to Rs 60,000. The Sunny and the Terrano are also available with similar schemes, except that the exchange bonus on the Sunny is up to Rs 45,000. Also, the company is a running free check-up carnival, which began on December 9 and will culminate on 17. In this carnival, the automaker is offering, free check-up, and up to 20 per cent off on labour charges and accessories, along with 50 per cent off on insurance renewal.
