Nissan unveiled two new cars at the Indian Auto Expo 2016. One was its hybrid crossover, the X-Trail, while the other one was the supercar GTR, better known as the Godzilla. The all-wheel-drive supercar is a different sight altogether. However, as per my discernment, the squared-off cues makes it look less aerodynamic. Though, the car has long been acclaimed because of its laser precision handling , weight distribution and driving dynamics. You can find numerous reviews and track test which will certainty showcase how capable of a sports car the GTR is. The great thing, this time around is that Nissan is finally bringing the car to Indian shores, but our enthusiast will have to wait for another 3 or 4 months to commission this car.
Speaking of the motor, a 3.8-litre-ed V6 motor does not sound up to par when pitched against its competitors, but do not mistake it for some slow runner as it can nail many a supercars in terms of track time, acceleration and exceptional cornering abilities. Figures? Standstill to a 100 kmph comes in under 4 seconds and it can hit a top speed of over 300 kmph, thanks to the 554 bhps.
On the inside, GTR looks quite old school, though it has all the amenities like a decent infotainment system, which shows all the important data like performance outputs, G-force data and cornering accelerations. The overall layout still looks dated when compared to the latest cars like Porche 911.
