Nissan Magnite Gets A CNG Option That Can Be Retrofitted At Authorised Dealerships, Costs Rs 75,000 More

The option to retrofit a CNG kit is currently available only in the states of Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala and Karnataka

While the Renault Kiger was introduced with a CNG option back in February 2025, its Nissan Magnite sibling has received such a powertrain option now. Like the Kiger, the Magnite’s CNG kits will not be available as factory fitment, but will be retrofitted by an authorised dealership. It is available with all the NA petrol-manual variants and costs Rs 75,000 over the standard variant prices.

Notably, the CNG kits can be currently retrofitted only in the states of Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala and Karnataka. The carmaker has said that the option to retrofit CNG kits will be expanded to other states in the coming months.
The third party CNG kits come with a 3-year of 1 lakh km standard warranty on all the additional components, which is offered by the third-party vendor.

The CNG option is only available with the naturally-aspirated petrol engine, paired with the manual gearbox. While the carmaker is yet to reveal the output figures with the CNG powertrain, the power and torque figures are expected to be slightly lower compared to the petrol variants.
The AMT or the more potent turbo-petrol option does not get a CNG choice.

Features And Safety
The Nissan Magnite gets a decent feature suite with amenities including an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch digital driver display, a 6-speaker Arkamys-tuned sound system and wireless phone charger. It also gets a cooled glovebox, ambient lighting, auto AC with rear vents and an auto-dimming inside rearview mirror (IRVM).
Its safety suite includes six airbags (as standard), hill start assist, traction control, a 360-degree camera, rear parking sensors and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
Rivals
The Nissan Magnite It locks horns with the Renault Kiger, Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue and Mahindra XUV 3XO. It also competes with sub-4m crossovers like the Maruti Fronx and Toyota Taisor.
