News doing rounds in the auto industry earlier this year, claimed Nissan Micra Sedan undergoing several tests in China. However it is being speculated now that this sedan will be hitting the Indian market some time next year.
This Nissan Micra sedan is referred as the “Affordable Sedan” and is based on the V-Platform. It is expected that the car will have a spacious cabin. The robust built of the car will also be impressive. It is believed that the new Micra Sedan will give a tough competition to models like Honda City and Volkswagen Vento which are, at present, ruling the sedan luxury segment in the Indian automobile market. One more interesting point about this new car of Nissan is that it will also compete with Toyota Etios sedan. The Toyota Etios sedan is going to be launched in India in the beginning of the coming year.

The new Nissan Micra sedan will have many similarities with Micra and as the platform is also same, Nissan will get big cost benefits. Undoubtedly these cost benefits would translate to a competitive price tag for the company. This new model of Nissan will be powered by a diesel engine of 1.5 liter, same as the Logan, to be incorporated in the Micra too. Another engine of 1.6 liter petrol is also a part of the future plan for the new sedan. At a later stage, Nissan may also provide a CVT transmission on the new sedan.
