Opel to Reveal New Astra Sedan and Facelift Astra Range

At the Moscow International Auto Salon that began on 29th August and will run till 9th September, GM will reveal to the world the new Astra four-door sedan along with the facelift of the Astra five-door hatchback and the station wagon, Astra Sports Tourer. Opel is expecting more than a million visitors to the Auto Salon. 

Opel will use the new Astra sedan as a major part of their growth plans in Russia, which is expected to become Europe’s most important market by 2014 with a sale of nearly 3.4 million vehicles. The Astra sedan will be available in selected Western European markets like Germany and Spain along with Russia and Turkey. The United Kingdom might not see the model anytime soon.

Opel India Pvt. Ltd. was a division of General Motors but was discontinued in 2006 and replaced by Chevrolet. The models available in India were Opel Astra which came in during the year 1996 and was phased out in 2003 giving way to Opel Vectra. Opel Corsa Swing and Opel Corsa Sail were also present here.
