The fuel prices in India have been slashed after the recent hike. The price cuts are applicable to both petrol and diesel and have been implemented from December 1, 2015 onwards. Diesel prices have been slashed by 25 paise per liter and petrol prices are reduced by 58 paise per litre. In New Delhi, diesel will cost Rs. 46.55 per litre and petrol will cost Rs. 60.48 per litre post these reductions. Even with the recent price fluctuations, the fuel prices have continued to be in the favour of consumers. In India, fuel prices are revised every 15 days. The most contributing factors of this monetary fluctuation is the American Dollar- Indian Rupee exchange rate.
The petrol price were lowered by 50 paise on November 1st, even though the diesel prices remained unchanged. Following this, petrol prices were hiked by 36 paise on November 16th and diesel prices witnessed a hike of 87 paise per litre. With the introduction of diesel hybrids like Toyota Camry and the SHVS technology brought in by Maruti in its premium sedans like Ciaz, the reduction in fuel prices are just another motivational factor to make that purchase decision of your desired car.
