Porsche to roll-out Porsche 911 Turbo S in India

Porsche, German automotive manufacturer of luxury high performance cars is all set to roll-out a new Porsche 911 series in Indian market. In a statement given to media Porsche announced that it will present its Porsche 911 Turbo S and Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriole in the upcoming Geneva Auto Show. Where the Porsche Turbo S is expected to come with a price tag of Rs 1.87 crore (Ex-showroom Delhi), the Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet will possibly be launched with a price tag of Rs 2 crore and above.
Porsche 911 was first introduced in year 1963 and since then it has gone through a series of modifications and up-gradations for racing, rallying and market competition. The all new Porsche 911 Turbo S is powered with a six-cylinder boxer engine which has two exhaust gas turbochargers to boost its performance with variable turbine geometry. Besides this the Porsche 911 Turbo S is loaded with a seven-speed, double-clutch gear-box to provide it a breathtaking acceleration. While it takes only 3.3 seconds to accelerate its speed from 0 kmph to 100 kmph, it takes just 10.8 seconds to reach speed of 200 kmph from stand still. The top speed of Porsche 911 Turbo S is 315 kmph, with improved fuel economy and better performance.
Overall the new Porsche 911 series has been designed to make this historical model more powerful and more comfortable. Bookings of the model in India has been started and it is expected to be delivered in the month of May. In coming months many new cars are expected to be launched in India including Ford Figo, Toyota Etios, Tata Aria and Volkswagen Polo.
