Porsche wins the battle against Audi in Volkswagen deal

Porsche, the luxury car manufacturer has won over a battle with the leading car brand Audi in the Volkswagen Group. The companies were competing over working on the large luxury sedans and sports cars for the German auto mobile manufacturer. The VW Group's head, Martin Winterkorn declared Porsche's involvement with the Volkswagen Group when the Porsche the German luxury sports car manufacturer threatened to sideline in the giant group's multi automotive brand.

Porsche opposed the aim of the German auto makers Volkswagen's manufactured platform for the company's core 911 range and is looking forward to develop the next generation platform for the front-mid and rear-mid-engine cars from the luxury car maker Porsche, Lamborghini and Audi. It will also be working on a “modular standard matrix” to support the Bentley and Porsche sedans.

Mr Winterkorn's declaration comes after Porsche stamping on its plans last week to stretch the company's Weissach design and the auto company's engineering facility and placing 100 new talented engineers. Matthias Muller, the new head of Porsche confirmed that, he is aiming to share the platforms and technology with the luxury car market Bentley.

On the other hand, Audi, the German auto maker tried hard to acquire Porsche's new place in the Volkswagen Group but instead would be responsible and working on the “modular longitudinal matrix” for the VW Group which is utilized in the Audi A4, Audi A5 and Audi Q5 car models.

The Volkswagen Group at present working on developing the “modular transverse matrix” which will first coming in the Audi A3, before it is used in the 40 car models by selling three million cars every year.

Volkswagen Group has extended the total deliveries for the year 2009 against the first eleven months of the year 2010. The auto group from Europe has rolled out total of 6.59 million cars (5.85 million 2009 ; +12.7 per cent), across globe, from January to November, 2010, by outshining in the positive trend in the international auto market(+11.3 per cent). The company at the 617,100 cars were delivered in November, 2010 against the last years same time by 513,200 units. On the contrary, the auto market improved by 10.3 per cent in the month of November but the VW delivered increased by 16.2 per cent.
